
I've been overweight like for almost 4 years now. But i know that there is no such thing as "too late" if we keep trying. I've never felt so happy in losing weight, I'm not in my ideal weight "yet",but the journey going there is really fun. I'm learning a lot in this process, which I'll be sharing later on.
I passed by Dorothy Perkins store at Galleria before heading home. It's my ultimate favorite store ever. I used to be a Size 16 in everything pants, skirts and dresses. To my surprise, i tried on some dresses and skirts which are all Size 12. I did pick the size 14's but the saleslady told me" ma'am maluwag po sa inyo ang 14". I tried like 5 dresses, and I was really having fun with my new size. Don't get me wrong, I know I'm still big and need to lose a lot of extra pounds, I definitely know that, but I love the way I am right now. And we should have that kind of thinking ,as well. So here some tips that really works for me, i got some of it from books.Hope this will help.
1. Ask for God's help - "I can do everything through him who gives me strength" Philippians 4:13
2.Have a weight loss buddy- "Two are better than one, because thay have a good return for their work;If one falls down,his friend can help him up" Ecc. 4:9,10
3. Enjoy and have fun- I've always thought that dieting is my enemy, it keeps me away from the things I want, it's a sacrifice,it's unreasonable, what I do now is that I don't think that I'm on a diet but I always tell myself that I need to be healthy and for me to be one, I need to live a healthy life style.
4. Move and move and move--laziness+unhealthy food= weight gain. This is so true, if you try to move more and exercise more you'll feel great and not just that you'll surely lose some. I've read from a book that" twenty minutes of exercise a day can mean the difference between "fab" and "flab".^^
5. Never skip- i used to do this a lot, but instead of skipping meals I try to eat like more than 3 times a day, but only small amount of food. Enjoy every bite, and try to eat slowly.
6. Running- this has become one of my favorite form of exercise now, aside from the cute guys I see while I'm breeze walking (a bonus)it makes me stronger and it increases my resistance.
7.Don't deprive yourself- who says? you can't eat your favorite ice cream or cake anymore?you still can, but we have to lessen the amount we eat.
8. Always share your blessing- food are blessing, so share it, try to share that 1 slice of cake with a friend, share that 10 pcs kwek kwek your siblings( i just did)heheh.
9. Set long term goals- " I used to say i need to lose weight for this event" what happens after that?Now I decided to lose weight until i become healthy, for my future family.
10. Stay away from negative people- well not really stay away, but try not to get too attached, these people I'm talking about are those who don't know how to appreciate and never stops insulting. Just pray for them instead, they are just so insecure about themselves.
11. Feel beautiful (this one's really difficult for me)- but if you read God's promises and how he made us, we are wonderfully made, if gained some weight it is our fault and not his, if we are sick because we always eat unhealthy food, it is our fault and not his. He wants the best for us, he always does. He loves us so much, but we need to love ourselves too, besides he wants us to take of our body as well.Over eating is a sin too, so let's please him even in the way we eat.
